Did somebody take MY SANDWICH?

Some people go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. Since I hate shopping on a normal day, I can’t even fathom the idea of being anywhere close to Black Friday shoppers. I prefer to hole up in the house, continuing to stuff my face and lapse into food comas all day long with leftovers.
Perhaps my absolute favorite Thanksgiving weekend tradition is making “moistmakers” with my cousin Tanya. We are both huge fans of Friends; if you are too, you will remember this:
Ross’ Thanksgiving leftover sandwich. Turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce in between 2 slices of bread, with a third slice of bread soaked in gravy and stuck in the middle to serve as “the moistmaker”. For at least the past 8 years we have been making moistmakers every Friday after Thanksgiving, whether or not we are together. I missed ONE when I was in India, where neither Thanksgiving nor Moistmakers were being celebrated. Every year we hope someone else will join us in this tradition, but every year we get weird looks as person after person declines to sample our sandwiches. Maybe because the sandwiches end up being the size of our heads, but really that is nothing new in the Noronha family.
How to make it: Put turkey and cranberry sauce on one slice of bread. Put stuffing on the other. Soak a third slice of bread in gravy and slap it in the middle.
Seriously large. Seriously ugly. Seriously delicious.
Okay that’s all. Kept my eyes open long enough to write this; now off for a long awaited food coma.
